How does the process work?
1. Let's Chat
Send me an email, and we will set up a time & date to have a phone consultation. I go over all the information you need before booking, as well as answer any pricing questions you have.
2. Book & Sign Contract
The session fee is due upon booking. As well as a signed Contract. Both must be complete before the date is yours. Female Only Sessions take place in my home-studio, Couple sessions take place in a hotel room.
3. Session Date
You arrive for your hair & make up to be done. We discuss wardrobe options, and jump right into the fun part! When we're finished shooting, I’ll send you out to lunch/do some shopping somewhere nearby while I edit & retouch your images. You will then come back a few hours later, and we’ll have what’s called your “Viewing Appointment” which is where you get to see all of your images for the first time, choose your favourites, and decide to purchase prints, products, and/or digitals, that is the time to do so!
4. The Reveal
When your chosen print products have arrived, and I have had a chance to make sure that they are perfect, you will return to take a look at them in print form for the very first time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring a friend?
Short answer is No. Often times a friend who comes along will pipe-in and say things like "That isn't a flattering pose" because they are not at the same angle that my camera is. To be SURE you stay confident, I recommend coming alone to your session, and I will be showing you little snippets from the back of my camera along the way. THAT BEING SAID: If you NEED a friend to come with you because you're nervous, I will allow it if they stay perfectly silent. Side note, there are no men permitted to be present at the studio while we work without an additional contract signed and hired security on site. This is for the safety of myself (the photographer), the client, and the hair & makeup team (both female).
How much is it?
Our average client spends $2500 +HST, and the session fee is $450 +HST.
Our minimum purchase requirement is $1500.
You should plan to spend $2000+ on your luxury boudoir experience.
We have had sales of up to $7000 for one client, however, we can work with almost any budget by offering payment plans.
I’m not sure what I want to order yet, can I decide when I see my images?
Absolutely! After the shoot I welcome you back to view your images and discuss product options. Once you decide on what you’d like to order (album, wall art, etc), 50% of the total is due to begin work on the design and the remaining balance is due when I place the order. I do not release designs or order product without full payment. There is a $1500 minimium investment. At the Viewing Appointment you will choose what you would like to order, there is a $25 re-schedule fee if you re-schedule or need to come back to view your images. If you happen to Pay in Full at your Viewing Session, any digitals you have purchased will be released to you THAT DAY (assuming no additional editing has been requested).
All Sales Are Final.
Why is the Session Fee Retainer Non-Refundable?
When you commit to book a session, you are removing the possibility of someone else booking that date & time... Therefore, committing to a sale for the Photographer. Not only is the Retainer Non-Refundable, but there is also a $300 Cancelation Fee, to compensate Ashley for a lost Collection sale - as my average client spends $2500, this fee is to deter people from waisting time communicating and also taking funds away from my family's income.
When I Pre-Purchase a Collection, can I change my mind at the Ordering Appointment?
Yes! There is always room to upgrade your Collection, or add a la carte products.
Will my photos be on the internet?
Full Paid Session: Not unless you say it’s ok! Every client I feature on my socials has given me written permission to post their images. If you aren’t comfortable with any images being shared, that is completely fine, just let me know!
Boudie Call: Yes. In exchange for a waived Session Fee you will be signing a Model Release which gives me permission to share my work and new creative ideas.
Can I just get the digitals?
There is an option to purchase the high quality digital images, but they are not inexpensive, and that is by design. I want to handle your prints and products to be SURE that the quality of images I release to you matches the quality of print product you hang on your wall or gift to yourself/partner.
Is being a photographer your full time job?
Yes. Aside from having two young children, my full attention goes into my passion and career as a Professional Photographer.
What do I get what I hire Ashley?
When you hire me to capture your images your Session fee covers wardrobe consultations (client closet access + personal wardrobe advice), location detailing, shoot time, travel up to 50km, and a pre-session information package that will put you at ease knowing that you are fully prepared. Ashley is a professional, licensed & insured photographer. After your session, we will do a one-on-one ordering session. You then choose the Collection or a la carte products you would like your images to be printed on.
